The Solar System Bubble

Solar Wind | Termination Shock | Heliosphere | Interstellar Medium

The intrepid Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft are still sending back data over forty years after their launch. Back in November 2003, the Voyager team announced it was seeing events unlike any encountered before, indicating that the spacecraft were approaching a strange “new frontier” in space. Information received subsequently from both spacecraft has shed new light on the structure of space and the solar wind “bubble” around our star.
