Does Extraterrestrial Life Exist?

RNA Model | Liquid Water | Habitable Zones | SETI | Drake Equation

While the emergence of any form of life (let alone highly intelligent life) is widely thought to be a rare occurrence, the sheer number of stars in the galaxy has led many scientists to accept the idea that we are not alone.

Kepler, the retired NASA space telescope, had a mission to discover planets orbiting other stars and detected 2,662 such "exoplanets" during its nine years of service. With NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and James Webb Space Telescope continuing the hunt, this figure has risen to over 5,300. Could any harbour life?
