The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is an ongoing effort to detect signs of intelligent alien civilizations by receiving and analysing signals from space. Since modern SETI began in 1960 with “Project Ozma”, when Frank Drake used the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia to search for artificial radio signals around two nearby stars, there have been numerous signals detected which have alluded to an artificial, extraterrestrial source.
